Pakistan Tobacco Company Ltd. (PTC) conducted its recruitment drive for this year’s edition of Battle of Minds at LUMS on January 30, 2019. Battle of Minds is an annual competition organised by PTC that aims to find the best talent from within the country. Teams are required to prepare, solve and present a business case to a panel of judges from the corporate community, giving potential graduates a platform to display their entrepreneurial skills.

Sarmad Abbasi, Regional Manager - Southern Punjab PTC, started the session by introducing his colleagues that were in attendance and gave a brief overview of the company. This was followed by a presentation by Muneeba Haleem, Commercial Finance Manager – Marketing PTC. Ms. Haleem, explained PTC’s diversified approach and told the audience that PTC operates across more than 200 countries around the world.

Qasim Ali, a Global Graduate at PTC, then took the stage and shared his journey with the company, as he talked about the Global Graduate Programme he was a part of. He then proceeded to explain the application procedure for the Battle of Minds 2019, which consisted of five main stages; the recruitment process, a test, shortlisting of the candidate, interviews and a finale. The session concluded with an interactive question and answer session which was a good indicator that Battle of Minds had captured the attention of the students present and that they were eager to participate in the competition.
