LUMS and MBA Class of `97 Join Hands to Sponsor a Business Student

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and the MBA Class of `97, represented by Ms. Fatima Asad Said, Executive Director, Human Capital Excellence at Abacus Consulting, signed an MOU on Thursday, July 14, 2016. According to the agreement, a deserving student will be sponsored for the completion of his/her MBA degree from the LUMS Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), Pakistan’s leading business school. The selection criteria for the sponsorship will be strictly need-based.
 
The Vice Chancellor LUMS, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail. H. Naqvi, signed the agreement on behalf of the university. He expressed his enthusiasm and confidence in the Class of `97 for taking this initiative to give back to the LUMS community. Ms. Fatima Asad Said shared her view that imparting quality business education is essential for continued growth of the Pakistani corporate sector and necessary for tomorrow’s leaders.
 
The sponsored student’s first year at the business school will be completely funded by the MBA Class of `97, which includes well known LUMS alumni who are currently serving in companies like Nestle, Engro, Coca-Cola, and Telenor to name a few.
 
After the signing ceremony, held at LUMS, Dr. Naqvi and Ms. Said both stated their will to continue working on supporting the LUMS community to the best of their abilities.
