LUMS Holds Session on Personal Effectiveness

The LUMS Career Services Office held an interactive session on Personal Effectiveness on October 24, 2019 at the University. The session was led by Nida Azwar, Talent & Organisation Manager and Wellbeing Lead, Unilever Pakistan Limited. Over the course of the evening, she provided an overview of the topic, and shared valuable tips on how personal effectiveness can be enhanced.

Ms. Azwar commenced the session by introducing herself and talking about her journey and role at Unilever. She shared that the firm believes in agile ways of working and then discussed the critical values one must hold onto when transitioning into the corporate world.

Attendees were also given insight into the importance of personal mastery – Ms. Azwar emphasised that students must understand themselves, their ambition, their potential and strive to be their best selves. She also stressed on the importance of building a network, and being proactive.

The session also covered the importance of being prepared for job interviews. Ms. Azwar shared valuable tips for crafting a CV and acing interviews and assessments.

The session concluded with an interactive Question and Answers session.
