FAST, the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences hosted the 2019 FAST University Islamabad Debating Championship (FUDC 2019) in accordance with the British Parliamentary debate format. The FAST Debating Society (FDS) brings astounding debating teams from all over Pakistan for this competition providing them with the space to discuss ideas, perspectives and thought-processes.

Two teams from the Debates and Recitation at LUMS Society (DRUMS) participated in the FAST University Islamabad Debating Championship 2019 from September 20-22. The DRUMS teams were up against several accomplished teams. However, both of the teams from LUMS made the University proud and triumphed over all national teams at FUDC 2019.

Team LUMS A won the entire tournament. The team consisted of Mushtaq Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS) Senior, Taha Iqbal and First Year student, Mustufa Shaukat. Whereas the LUMS B team comprising of MGSHSS sophomores Ashar Imran and Ahsan Muhammad won the second place in the tournament.

Mr. Imran, who recently won the Second Best Speaker prize at the Government College University Debating Championship, has yet again made the DRUMS team and LUMS super proud of his unstoppable achievements. This victory is yet another example of how DRUMS is making a mark on a national level by winning one debating tournament after another.
