Dr. Adnan Khan Appointed Dean, Office of Student Affairs

Dr. Adnan Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics at the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering has been appointed the Dean, Office of Student Affairs. According to the announcement made by the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Khan’s tenure starts July 2018 and ends June 30, 2021.

Speaking about his appointment, Dr. Khan shared that the LUMS Management cares a great deal for the academic and nonacademic development of its students. “The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) aims to provide support and guidance to students during their academic journey. We are available to address any concerns regarding campus life and academic issues that our students may face. I encourage and welcome students to contact me or any of the OSA staff regarding any concerns they may have. I hope through these interactions, we will be able to learn from each other and help develop a vibrant and thriving community,” he said.

Dr. Khan was awarded his PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York in 2007. Prior to his doctoral work he obtained an MS in Applied Mathematics at the University of Delaware in 2002 and a BE in Electrical Engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi in 1998. His current research interests involve modelling and analysis of biological systems, multiscale modelling and asymptotic analysis. Prior to joining LUMS he has taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and University of Delaware. Besides academic, he is also interested in reading on economics, philosophy, history and world literature.
