Bain & Company Middle East conducted a recruitment drive for the position of Associate Consultant at LUMS on February 7, 2019. Mr. Faiz Ahmed, consultant at Bain and LUMS alumnus, introduced himself and his team members, Mr. Nadir Akram (Partner and LUMS alumnus), Mr. Faisal Sheikh (Partner) and Ms. Pakiza Khalid ( Senior Associate Consultant and LUMS alumna). After the introductions, Mr. Akram explained what the organisation, Bain is all about and why they have come to recruit at LUMS. He said that currently Bain & Company is ranked #1 in the world and is a premium consultancy firm, which has remained among the top three, preserving a high reputation in the global firm market. He said that their competency and post project result efficiency is very high with determination and commitment for work, which differentiates the firm from many others in the world. He also shared some other valuable information about their recruitment process and positions as well as the criteria and nature of the jobs. Moreover, he also explained how Bain is the best place to learn.
Mr. Faisal Sheikh added that Bain works and helps top management address their critical business issues. “Our stock price performance improvement is high with 15% annual industrial growth. Clients choose Bain because of our outcome and our people,” he said.
Ms. Pakiza Khalid explained the flexible career path while working at Bain i.e. opportunities like MBA sponsorship, externship, transfer and talent hub. She further discussed meritocratic career progression, which takes new recruits from Associate to Partner and then AC, within 10 years. She also shared details about their Middle East office, as it is growing fast in terms of offices, employees and diversity with around 40 different countries’ nationals working there. She also spoke about the Company’s client portfolio and how the international experience makes it a leading player in the market.
Later, Mr. Ahmed narrated his own story and journey of success being a LUMS graduate and then working at Bain as well as his MBA Programme sponsored by Bain. He shared that he is being sponsored for Harvard Business School and will graduate in 2021.
At the end, the team shared the application process and their deadlines. The session concluded with an interactive question and answer session, followed by a chat over coffee with a few students.
