Presidents Message

“Passing on the importance of the scientific method is the greatest responsibility I have shouldered. Being the president, I lead a group of very, very talented, curious, helpful and motivated individuals who help me carry the light of science far and beyond.

The LUMS Students Math Society serves a multifold purpose in the scientific arena of the country; it not only proliferates scientific theory in all its mathematical glory, but also prepares individuals to become the leaders of tomorrow and include science in their daily discourse to stimulate thinking in the masses that will help humanity in unimaginable ways.

My LSMS family is everything to me. Every team member, every director and all of the Executive Councils, the current and the previous, in their own special ways work towards a common goal of making the world a better place. We do that by appreciating nature’s design and the study of it and by spreading this message of the universe in the language of logic that we call math.”

"To work tirelessly for the promotion of science, and mathematics as its language, in all its glory. To communicate the need, the utility and the mathematical aesthetic of the understanding of natural phenomenon, and to recognize the power that comes from grasping this knowledge."To apprise students of current global affairs and encourage them to participate in different events related to chemical sciences and engineering.

Objectives

  • Organize and execute the biggest Math Olympiad in the country that provides an opportunity to math enthusiasts to celebrate the discipline.
  • Hold events for the LUMS community that bring out the fun side of Math and motivate people to appreciate its beauty.
  • Recognize other efforts for the same purpose.
  • Celebrate the people working in the field.
  • Organize Workshops and Talks that aim to familiarize people with the technical aspect of the discipline.
