Common Room

Each residential facility features common rooms with large screen TVs and comfortable seating.

All common rooms are air conditioned and open 24 hours. Students should keep in mind the following rules:

•Residents are only allowed to sleep in the lounges during the summer months
•Personal belongings should not be left unattended in the common spaces
•The college cannot be held responsible in case of loss of personal property

Food Storage

All the food items stored in the fridge should be labelled properly with students' names and roll numbers. Refrigerators are regularly cleaned by the cleaning staff and spoiled food is thrown away.

The University would not be responsible for the loss of food items.

Laundry

Laundry services are provided at a very nominal rate to all students. The residents are responsible for collecting and dropping laundry from the laundry rooms located in the designated residential areas. The laundry charges effective as of January 1, 2013 are PKR 2000 per student/per semester. The accounts department bills all students directly for the laundry charges.

Laundry is not to be hung out to dry in the balconies.

Mail Delivery

All letters and packages are received at the central LUMS Mail office. It is then delivered to the respective college offices twice a day. Outgoing mail can be sent through the Superstore.

Medical Services

A qualified doctor is available on-campus, Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The LUMS Emergency Services (EMS) is available round the clock on Extension 1122.

Grooming Services

Grooming services are available in Perwin Ali Hall and Mubarik Hostel. The Service is open during weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only. Residents are not allowed to invite the beauticians to their rooms under any circumstances.

Pantry

Pantries are located on every floor and are equipped with a refrigerator, water cooler, microwave oven, toaster, stove and an iron. Please remember that these are for the use of all building residents. Common courtesy requires that each user cleans up after using the facility.
